# Math OER Bittinger Textbook Homework

This page has a list of recommended odd-numbered textbook problems. This list is designed for a hypothetical student with a "typical" math background. If your math foundation is weak, do even more odd-numbered problems. If your math foundation is strong, do fewer.

The odd-numbered textbook problems have an answer key in the back of the textbook. They are a great way to start practicing new math skills. Build the habit of asking yourself if each answer you get is reasonable. Check your answers so you do not practice bad habits.

(A few even-numbered problems are so worthwhile that they are also included. They have answers provided below.)

While you do these problems, review your own notes. Where are they missing an example problem? Where can you improve an explanation? Fix up any weak spots in your notes. Make flashcards if those help you.

If possible, do homework with others. Students who participate in study groups almost always pass the class. You can ask your instructor to help students find study groups.
